What you’ll be doing

Make your own wonderful recycled leather coin purse with artisan leather worker Jaquine Oliver.  This very enjoyable half day workshop will give you a great insight into leather working and some sound skills too.  Jaquine will help you:

  • choose the right leather, thong and label from a selection
  • use a template and scalpel to cut your leather
  • mark and make holes
  • hammer in the press studs
  • hand finish the thong into the sides of your purse

About Jaquine

Jaquine is a fantastic leather worker, having over 20 years experience of working with this tactile material.  She moved into leather work after a career in clothing design.  Having originally trained in textiles, she brings an extraordinary range of skills and experience to her current work in producing recycled bags, purses and jewellery with her husband in their company Oliver & Purchase. Based near the sea in South Devon, she is a great teacher and communicator.
